Say FU Perfection and Focus on Progress!
There is something that has been on my mind lately…
It’s about perfection and how it can take away your emotional wellness and actually prevent you from achieving your health, life, and carreer goals. It can make you a slave of your own ego (BTW. I believe that ego is not always bad and we can use it to stretch and grow but this is a topic for another day) and make you feel trapped. Once you get trapped in perfectionism, it’s not possible to move forward and you are not really able to receive value from your own actions. This short post is written as a reminder that it’s OK to fail. It’s OK to make mistakes. It’s OK to admit that we screw up sometimes. Whatever it is that you want to achieve, you will not achieve it without making progress and without moving forward. So what’s the point of getting stuck with one thing, just trying to make it all perfect? Read on to brainstorm. Continue reading
Do We Actually Understand What Success Means?
So much is being said about success, successful people, or success stories. But what is success?
Is it about becoming a millionaire? Or looking like a model? Or becoming a famous actor /actress?
Is it about having a Ferrari? Does having more stuff than your neighbors do make you more successful? And finally, how do you know who’s more successful or less successful? Can success be measured?
I have a really simple definition of success. Read on to discover yours…Let’s brainstorm! Continue reading
Don’t Focus on Your Problems. Focus on Solutions.
There are many things we can’t control or change. The only thing we can actually control is how we react to them and what we decide to focus on. What you focus on can change your life and help you create a stronger body and mind. You need to focus on your vision (whether it’s health, life or career). You need to FOCUS on where you’re going instead of where you’re coming from. If you know where’re your going, nothing can stop you. You can have a bad day and still move forward. Now, I am not judging. We all have been through dark periods in our lives; we all have. Sometimes, we may feel trapped in a vicious cycle and don’t know where to start. I can totally relate to this paralyzing, “vicious cycle syndrome.” You just can’t take positive action, even though deep inside you know what to do…
But I Don’t Have Time!!!
The following is a simple but quite thought-provoking guest post by my friend Michal Stawicki from ExpandBeyondYourself. Michal is a bestselling author with a passion for personal development and personal success. He is dedicated to a life of learning and continual growth in all aspects so that he can improve the quality of people’s lives. He walks the talk and he knows exactly what it takes to create health, happiness and progress. In this article, he wants to help you improve your life through changing your mindset, creating new habits and doable action plans as well as eliminating limiting beliefs.
Och, one more, thing, Michal is not some ivory-tower guru telling you what to do. He also has a life to live: a day job, wife and kids, church obligations, a full time job, a daily 3-4 hour commute and random disasters (delayed trains, children’s illnesses…). Yet he manages to find time and passion to pursue his writing career (to make it harder, English is not his first language). He can make progress in all areas of his life. Read on to learn his common-sense approach and start changing your life (even if you don’t have time). This stuff is easier than you believe! Enjoy!
Re-connect with Your Body, Mind, and Soul and Do What’s Right for You. And ONLY FOR YOU.
I always say that the simplest solutions are usually the best. I really believe it’s true. It’s just that US, humans have this weird talent to overcomplicate things. For years, I believed that in order to master health, I needed to know all about the latest diets and super foods or spend tons of money on spas, coaches, extravagant healers, exotic supplements and herbs from the other side of the world. I believed I did not know enough. Yesterday’s superfood becomes today’s banned food. The latest research shows you should cut off this and that. But the guru Xxx says you will thrive if you add more of it into your diet and that it can prevent cancer. OMG! Too much information…Yet too much information can produce scarcity. I am just about to show you how.
How to Stop Torturing Yourself with Meaningless Actions
Yes! How to stop torturing yourself with meaningless, mindless actions and endless lists of goals, resolutions and to do lists that usually get forgotten and neglected pretty soon after they were conceived. Since it’s January, everyone is talking about New Year’s Resolutions. There are many programs claiming they can help you achieve all your goals. Don’t get me wrong, I like good motivational programs with messages that help me keep on track, I love accountability and I am a very goal oriented person. But I can also learn from my failure. Over the past few years I realized what works in terms of goal setting and what doesn’t. It’s not only about the magic phrase: New Year’s Resolutions. It’s about steady progress. If you are looking for a fresh approach to achieving your goals without feeling too overwhelmed or tempted to quit, read on!
